I'm the lead pastor of a great church. It's not that I'm great, or any one person who attends FVC is great, it's just that together, as a body of Christ, we have a great church.
We had our monthly leadership team meeting last night (several congregational leaders, along with our little church staff), and as we were discussing some important topic, my mind wandered, and God just brought to my attention that I served a great church...I told Him that I knew that already. Then I was encouraged "...to be thankful more often if I already knew that." It was a needed wake up call.
I am thankful for our church. But admittedly, I'm sometimes too busy to take time to thank God for it. So that's what I'm going to try and do a little more of in the days ahead--to be more thankful for our church. It's the church that Jesus died for you know.
