Hello everyone. If you've never visited a blog before--welcome to the 21st century, and welcome to my blog!
We're discussing leadership at FVC, and I wanted to continue our discussion from Sunday morning on leaders learning to guard their heart and learning to give their heart. It's pretty important (vitally important) for leaders to get their heads around this concept, because it ultimately helps us determine how we make those leadership decisions!
Okay, so let's just dialog. On Sunday, I mentioned the one thing that we should always guard our heart against is the threat of temptation. When we're able to discern just what causes us to lose focus on God, and therefore place it back onto us, we are able to then hatch 'escape plans' to keep us from falling into temptation.
In addition to guarding our heart, leaders have to give their heart away as well. Of course we have to be careful about the things that we give to...after all, we only have SO MUCH heart!
I mentioned that one of the greatest things that we can give our heart to, is the concept of impractical thinking...thinking that because God is God, that ANYTHING is possible.
I'd love to continue our 'talk' through this blog...if you've got thoughts, send them along. You can even do it 'anonymously' if you choose.

Regarding temptation, I have always thought it best to make a decision about something ahead of time. The mind is very powerful. After deciding to do (or not do) something in advance, I find it very easy to follow through when the situation arises.
What happens if you don't have time to 'think' about it? What happens if something, or even better, SOMEONE happens to you?
