turning point

I got the chance to let everyone @ FVC know what the future of our church should look like over the past three weeks.
I told folks about our mission statement:
  • Buiding Community
  • Changing lives
  • Pursuing God

And how this impacts our everyday life. I'm praying that it does.

I titled this entry "turning point" because personally I feel that we're at a place that we're going to be taking a big turn as a church. There's no where else to go.

As a pastor, I'm not going to settle for a mediocre church...one that exists to sit back and let the world around us slide into the darkness without some kind of a fight. When we started this church, that was at least ONE of the things that I promised God...we weren't going to be a status quo kind of church.

Of course I fell and got hurt, which sidelined me for about 3 months (maybe even more looking back), and that led to a giant loss of mojo, but I'm sensing that we're ready to join back in the fight again as a community of believers.

I'm looking forward to the kind of turn that God is leading us toward.
