I was preaching on sin this week (to be continued next Sunday as well), and I was overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit on the idea of faith. I mean, seriously, who could ever digest the size of our spiritualness without a huge degree of faith?
I suppose that's why we're reminded by the Apostle Paul that it is ONLY by faith that we can have relationship with God the Father.
Still, after many, many years as a believer, it strikes me funny every now and then when I think about faith...simple, yet extremely complex. Like a child, and yet deep, profound understanding.
I hope that as I grow older, my faith will grow more like a child's rather than the other direction--that of seeking more and more 'adult' understanding. It's not that I don't want more wisdom, or deeper understanding of the heart of God, but it sure does seem to me that the farther I walk with Jesus, the more that I'm compelled to just hang out with Him, and love Him, rather than ascend to higher theological insights.
Just some thoughts on a Monday morning...
