I haven't 'blogged' for awhile. It's not that I didn't want to...I just didn't have the time. I know what all of you type A people are going to say. You're going to say that you have time for what is important to you. And you're right...kindof. The truth is that while I really DID want to write, I just wanted (needed) to get other things accomplished first.
Of course you know about my family...they are pretty high on my priority list. Then, of course, is my job (lead pastor of FVC), which takes an inordinate amount of my time. But now, I'm getting ready to leave for vacation, and so I REALLY don't have time to blog because I should be getting ready to go!
Let me just take a few minutes to tell you all how life is going. It's actually pretty good--pretty great really. God is good. He remains faithful in spite of the many ways that we are capable of messing things up.
The church is going very well. People are finding Jesus. Lives are changing; marriages are strengthening; I believe that personal holiness is being persued. It's all good.
It's so good that we're now faced with an attendance issue (too many people--not enough space), and we're going to be forced to make some hard decisions here in the short term.
Pray for us will you? Talk with you after vacation...

I think wow what a concept, a busy Pastor who puts his family first! It sounds to me like a leader who's got his priorities straight, and in line with the Word of God. Perhaps that is why we need a second service, the flock mirrors the leaderships set examples, in turn the body of Christs multiplies. Beats building a building any day of the week, and I might add a whole lot easier when the focus is on people and not on thier accomplishments. In turn, God smiles on the Pastors for having his/her priorities straight and hurles a miracle from heaven, low and behold Jesus stands at the door of our church, with a hard hat in hand and says "Where oh great church would you like me to build, that you might possess the land". Yea I think we are on the right track, and I think we'll keep our wagon attached to you!
We hope you have (had) a wonderful restful vacation. We both love to read your "blog" so carry on but always remember where those priorities are! See you soon!
