We're back from our retreat...well, we've actually been back for a week now, but I'm JUST NOW getting around to journaling about it.

It was a great time of getting to know each other, to pray, and to dream a little bit. It will be fun to see just where God is moving in the hearts and minds of our leaders.

We took a good chunk of time and brainstormed about answers for these five goals:

1. 500 in worship attendance
2. 300 in Venture Groups
3. 12 new ministry 'initiatives'
4. 3 new church plants
5. 100 salvations

There are obviously too many 'suggestions' to write down here. I will highlight though...

It was decided that a good sized 'hole' at FVC is the discipleship component...the focused, intentionally designed path for people to grow in their faith once they decide to follow Christ. We recognize it, and we're going to do better this year at making adjustments to address it. One of the MAJOR parts of the answer to that one is the hiring of our new CONNECTIONS pastor--Jaytee Tanguma. We're totally excited about this one. Jaytee is going to be responsible for connecting people together through whatever means we can find.

We stalled out on the 3 new church plant ideas...I think that we're pretty busy starting FVC (still) to make much headway on that one just yet--but don't count us out. Starting new churches is still way up there for us.

The 100 salvations is the one that I'm most excited about...I'll try and write more on that one later.
